One – Inaugural Changing Lives program with Coventry University

From 9 and 16th September 2012, fourteen students and two staff members from Coventry University formed part of the first Changing Lives Program, an initiative between Madrasati, Eastern Holding and Coventry University, to change lives of underprivileged school children in Jordan.

During the week-long cultural exchange program at one of Eastern Holding’s sponsored schools in Irbid, the Coventry students shared their time and views on the importance of education in the global economy, as well as engaging with the school children in a broad range of subjects such as art and design, workshops on science and debating skills and community work.

The Coventry students also pooled their efforts and initiatives geared towards promoting an open, better and quality education, agriculture, healthcare, and the economic development for the school children.

In addition to sharing their views and educational experience with the Irbid students, the Coventry students also worked enthusiastically and tirelessly to improve the aesthetics of the school building (interior and exterior), leaving the school students with a sense of pride in their school and motivation to move forward with purpose to control and plan their destiny in life.
