Twelve – Public Health with Cardiff Met.

In March 2018, we were delighted to host Cardiff Metropolitan University public health and nutrition students for a special program in collaboration with the Royal Health Awareness Society (RHAS).

Bringing together shared interests between Changing Lives, RHAS, Madrasati, King Hussein Cancer Foundation and the University of Jordan School of Nursing, Cardiff Metropolitan students visited a wide range of public health initiatives in rural Irbid and Greater Amman. They also received in-depth briefings from RHAS staff and professors from the University of Jordan on the broad range of public health issues facing Jordan and its various communities.

In continuation of our ongoing partnership with grass-roots organisations at Gaza refugee camp, Jerash, we spent two days engaged in small-scale infrastructure upgrades at youth centres in the camp and cleaning initiatives organised by One Love and Greening the Camps. We look forward to seeing the new social centres in the camp provide improved educational and recreational opportunities for the camp’s youth.
